It might sound like a funny name for a type of computer but the NUC is a game changer for small desktops and there are many applications.
The NUC is just 10cm x 10 cm in size, can have powerful current generation processors from Celeron to i5, run multiple high definition displays and deliver data incredibly fast via mSATA Solid State Drive (SSD) technology.
There are plenty of advantages and applications, from a desktop replacement, Home Theatre PC (HTPC), Point of Sale (POS) and kiosks, security and Digital Video Recorder (DVR), digital signage and custom all in one touch screens – you can mount it on the back of the display.
We’ve been using them as desktop replacements in retail shops where space is at a premium but they are just as useful in the home or office.
