Nicola and Kai

From Nicola:

After my nephew Kai was diagnosed 12 months ago with Pluro Pulmonary Blastoma, a very rare type of cancer, I have been inspired to try and help the other kids going through what Kai has been through. The money raised will be donated to the Women’s and Childrens Hospital Foundation for the Brookman Ward, which is the kids cancer ward. They have done so much for Kai throughout his ongoing treatment.

“I am going to do this by sponsorship and an event on 11 February 2012, which is Kai’s 5th birthday. As part of that event I am cutting my off my dreadlocks for the cause and my father will also be losing his hair on the day.

“We will receive donations from this week till the end of February. All donations will go directly to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital ” she said.

Guests and donors are invited to attend the fundraiser event on 11 February 2012. Gourmet catering from some of the region’s best known suppliers and Skillogalee’s own award winning wine will be supplied. Entertainment will be provided by South Australian musicians and a variety of local artists and business will donate items for auction. With an estimated 300 guests, this inaugural event has a fundraising target of $30,000.
